The distinctive purple flower is an ancient
symbol of Scotland and was used as a heraldic crest by the early
kings and by clans and families as part of their coats of arms.
The Order of the Thistle is a Scottish Order of Knighthood, now
one of the oldest's orders in Britain.

Luckenbooth Designs |
These heart-shaped brooches were traditionally exchanged between lovers and were also pinned on a baby's shawl to protect it from evil spirits. The name comes from the locked booths around St Giles Cathedral in the Royal Mile in Edinburgh where they were originally sold. |

This jewellery made in the Shetland Islands in the north of Scotland uses ancient designs based on norse legends. The three nornes are mythical birds symbolising past, present and future. Querndale beast is a design taken from an ancient bronze harness.

Heather Jewellery |
Heather gems are handmade from the stems of heather, the purple flower that is one of the emblems of Scotland. The stems are dried and natural dyed and then compressed into blocks, cut and lacquered to give the vibrant colours. The settings are silver or pewter. Each piece is unique.
