Wendy Jane North's vision for the business is to promote and nurture Scottish design, craft and Innovation with a focus on high quality. We stock, "The Best Of Scottish" offering traditional and contemporary cutting edge designs.
The first Tappit Hen in Edinburgh's High Street was at White Horse Close at the foot of the Royal Mile, within a few years the business moved up the hill. To this day there is still a Tappit Hen displayed in the metal work above the shop door.
The business evolved, moving full tilt into the boom years for new designs and the expanding Jewellery and Wedding Markets. Over four decades the Tappit Hen responded to the exciting developments in the Scottish Jewellery Industry, often inspired by the revival of interest in Art Nouveau, Celtic and Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs.
