Bespoke Gold Celtic Knot Work Engagement Ring with Montana Sapphires and Diamond

Our Customers were visiting from Australia and called us to schedule an appointment to discuss a bespoke idea for an Engagement Ring. We met with them a few days later in the Gallery.

He spontaneously proposed in the Scottish Highlands and they were keen to select a Celtic Engagement Ring with gemstones that was designed and made in Scotland.

Design Process

We sat together with paper and pen and sketched some ideas. We agreed that the Celtic knot should flow into a point at either side of the setting. Our customer loved the idea of 3 gemstones set flush into the band with a smooth surface. 

We also looked at some of the rings in the shop for inspiration. Our Edinburgh Celtic knot, was used for the print around the band with some modifications.

We created some artwork for our customer over the following days and they agreed to go ahead.

Final Design

The final design was a Celtic knot, comfy fit 4 mm band with three gemstones, set deeply into panels in the band. Each gemstone was secured with 4 beads.

Montana Sapphires and a single Diamond were finally selected for the gemstones. We were looking for a gemstone that looked similar to the ocean, Montana Sapphire is such a stunning teal colour, with shades of blue and green, it also sits beautifully alongside Diamonds.

Our customer selected 18 ct Yellow Gold. It is a lovely bright yellow colour and highlighted the Diamond and Montana Sapphires. 

The design was created using the lost wax casting process. It was then finished, polished, set and hallmarked.
